To be able to assist our students in their learning journey, teachers must know what the student is thinking.  This workshop focuses on how to assess where our students are throughout the learning process, and determine the next steps.  Formative assessment probes, preconceptions, note-booking techniques, Socratic dialog, student involvement in assessment, and exit tickets are used as tools in science classes to find out “What are you thinking?”
